Nicolas Wagnières was a record store owner, producer, and independent DJ during the 1990s. He then resumed his film studies at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD), graduating in 2005. He worked as an assistant at HEAD and as a research collaborator for the master’s program in film—the Walking the Edit project—for five years, while developing a network of collaborations with numerous dance and theater companies in French-speaking Switzerland.
He wrote and directed his first feature-length documentary, Hôtel Jugoslavija, which was noticed at the Berlinale in 2018, among other places. He is currently working on his second feature-length documentary, Mon ami Guillaume, produced by Le Laboratoire Central in Lausanne.
